“I want to give my kids the world”, says the comedic genius behind ‘Ted’ who is also a father of four. While Mark Wahlberg has effortlessly executed diverse roles on screen, the role of being a father is prioritized the most by the ‘Family man’. Mark shared, “…I also want them to appreciate everything, to succeed, to be good people, to enjoy life. This is my most important role. If I fail at this, I fail at everything.“ 

Keeping the betterment of his kids in mind, Wahlberg moved from Los Angeles to Nevada. While Wahlberg was young and took up acting as a career opportunity, he moved to California. Stating the reason behind his choice, Wahlberg stated, “I want to be able to work from home”. He further added, “We moved to Nevada where, after this gubernatorial election, hopefully we go to legislation and get a bill passed so we can get tax credits for the state, build a state-of-the-art studio here and make this Hollywood 2.0.“

Wahlberg’s only aim is to make sure that he is “able to give my kids a better life and follow and pursue their dreams”. Mark Wahlberg further added how he and his wife Rhea Durham decided to shift to Nevada “to just kind of give ourselves a new look, a fresh start for the kids, and there’s lots of opportunity here”.

Wahlberg has chosen to be supportive of his children’s individual choices and interests in life. Speaking about his daughter Grace Wahlberg, he said, “She’s already traveling the world, jumping horses and doing her thing” and humorously added, “Of course, she picked the most expensive sport possible”. But during the same interview with Jimmy Fallon on ‘The Tonight Show’, the proud father showed a picture of his youngest daughter holding a winning plaque with his wife Rhea Durham. The ‘Uncharted’ star also talked about how much Grace loves the sport. 

Mark Wahlberg believes his kids deserve the world

Speaking about Grace’s love for her sport and her disciplined regime, the proud father said, “My daughter, believe it or not, is more disciplined than me. I didn’t adopt that kind of discipline until I was in my 30s, and I had to do it because of work.” Sharing more about Grace Wahlberg’s plans, Mark added, “She works out now. She’s an equestrian. She now wants to go up in meters and to be a Grand Prix Jumper. And now, she does it on her own because she wants to be an Olympian”

Mark is not just proud of his equestrian queen Grace Wahlberg, but is also equally concerned about his other two sons Michael and Brendon, and her eldest, 20-year-old Ella. While Ella Wahlberg was a teenager, Mark found it tough to parent her. “It’s tough, but people say that they pass through it and they come back to you. She wants to go be off and do her thing”, shared Mark while narrating his experience. Although Mark admits that it is “not easy” to parent four young children, he does it with utmost honesty and patience.
