The equestrian community had the pleasure of witnessing the 2023 iteration of the Breeders’ Cup in November 2023. After a show of speed, fans witnessed spectacles of grace and elegance at the FEI Jumping World Cup. The 2023-24 Jumping World Cup was held in Fort Worth, USA, and drew loads of great competitors.
Interestingly, it’s not just the participants who displayed perfection at the event. A recent social media upload captured a veteran jumping course designer speaking about his dedication to his job. He revealed what keeps him going despite being in the equestrian course designing industry for 25 years.
Blending precision with passion to make the best equestrian jumping courses

Anderson Lima is a level three equestrian course designer specializing in jumping courses. FEI TV uploaded a video showcasing a brief interview with Lima on its official Instagram account. Talking about his experience of working at the Fort Worth event, Lima said, “I like the venue here. I mean it’s the third time that I perform here.”

The equestrian course designer further added, “You have the top 10 here, the top 15 here. We all look for the welfare horse, the combination to get the best result. We all care about the right course for the right class, and I put the same effort for the cross rails class that I have to build and into the same one that we’re going to have here, meter 60, for me the same thing.”
Speaking about the process of course designing, he said,“ It take time. It’s a lot of details, a lot of things that it’s involved on the course design, but I do love what I do, and I think I do it with a lot of passion.” Lima’s hard work showed in the brilliant success enjoyed by the 2023-24 FEI Jumping World Cup. Interestingly, he is also one of the designers selected for another huge equestrian event.
Anderson Lima to work for the 2024 Winter Spectacular Show Series

The 2024 Winter Spectacular Show Series will begin as soon as the new year commences. The 12-week event will conclude on 24 March 2024 and will be held at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, Florida.
The event will operate on a grand scale and has invited several course designers, who will showcase their skills as each week passes. Anderson Lima has been shortlisted for the equestrian jumping events scheduled for the third week of the event.

Lima has already impressed many with his skill at the 2003 Pan American Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic; the 2003 South American Games in Sao Paulo, and the 2003 Spruce Meadows in Calgary, Canada. Just last year, in 2023, at the Devon Horse Show, he laid up the course for the illustrious $226,000 Sapphire Grand Prix. Now, the 2023-24 FEI Jumping World Cup is also one of his successes.
