Despite hailing from the affluent Gates family, she’s chartered territories on her own stead. But her family, full of big-hearted souls, has always taught her to inspire onlookers and extend support to the ones in dire need. January, also known as the cervical cancer awareness month, has gathered many for a good cause. But finally, Gates has been emerged as a kindred spirit in medicine, teaming up with the best and brightest to bring to light a blighted issue in the medical realm.

At Wellington International, there’s a medical clinic situated on the Showgrounds. Providing advanced care and wellness to the ailing crowd, the medical center Ringside MDs has welcomed Jennifer Gates into their fold and a fellow equestrian to raise awareness. Ringside MDs’ official Instagram page embraced the board-certified OBGYN Dr. Jill to provide Sherbourne the comfort of opening up about her past woes and her recovery journey. The caption reads, “Today, with board certified OBGYN Dr. Jill, we share the compelling story of Ann Sherbourne, featuring special guest Jennifer Gates Nassar”. In a profession where it’s not just the athletes toiling to perfect their skills but also managing their equine partners to be on their hooves, getting time off is tough.

But all three present in the conversation setting agreed that ‘Pap test for detection’ and annual examination can curb cancer. In today’s world, cervical cancer is treatable and preventable. But nobody can speak the real deal better than the one who has already been in that boat.

Ann Sherbourne has inspiring notes
“I was diagnosed in January 2020”, was what Ann started her story with. “I was very diligent about my pap screenings… I’m still stage one. I’m cured. I was very fortunate. It was only because I had very good doctors”. She further commended her team and loved ones who never left her side in times of need.

Sitting beside her was the fourth-year medical student, Jenn, who had graduated from Stanford with an undergrad degree in human biology in 2018. After years of harboring aspirations about curing the sick, she graduated with a Masters in Public Health from Columbia University in 2023. With more degrees to bag in the future, the equestrian icon has ample to achieve in show jumping as well.
