A 20-year-old equestrian enthusiast was born and raised in Mexico. She emerged in a non-horse-centric household, sparked by her mother’s deep-seated passion. She discovered her love for riding early, initially venturing into eventing before delving into the world of show jumping. Throughout her junior career, she wholeheartedly committed herself to mastering different jumping divisions and participating in international competitions. At the age of 14, her journey culminated. She fearlessly entered her inaugural grand prix, marking a significant milestone in the equestrian world.

However, the HITS Ocala Winter Circuit commenced in mid-December with the Ocala Holiday Classic and extends through March. In a recent Sunday competition, Maya Denis besieged Ocala with her trusty stallion, as highlighted in an Instagram post shared two days ago.

The World Equestrian Center recently shared an intriguing post featuring Maya Denis atop a horse in a jumping position. The caption reads, This week’s Ocala Sunday Spotlight shines on 20-year-old Maya Denis of Mexico.” They elaborated further on the talented young athlete. They noted that she had established Ocala as her home two years prior. She had consistently secured top placings in competitions. Highlighting her participation in multiple international classes at WEC, they emphasized how she manifested her genuine love for the sport. She dedicated considerable time and energy to her horses.

Maya and her family moved to the United States two years ago. She was 18 years old and for most of her life had been in Mexico. It took some time to adjust to life in a new country. They had to adjust themselves to the differences. However, as they became settled in, Maya started falling back into the swing of things. Now her horses and she are more ready. his enables her to take on the challenge of bigger classes in her equestrian pursuits.

Maya Denis manages a varied team of eight horses in her equestrian endeavours. Her tasks include training a three-year-old and nurturing the potential of her homebred youngster for future international competitions. Additionally, she dedicates attention to developing two standout six-year-olds, notably impressed by one’s remarkable ease of training, showcasing a rare blend of maturity within a young equine body.

At the core of Maya’s success stands Callypso, her eight-year-old superstar, often dubbed an ATM Machine for his consistent victories. This speedy horse not only simplifies her job but sets the pace. He delivers swift performances even in initial rounds. Another remarkable mare, Schugga, nearing 12 years old, challenges herself at heights ranging from 1.40m to 1.45m despite her anxious nature. She showcases determination and a commendable work ethic. This translated into success in the recent 1.40m classic.
