Born in Estonia, Eve’s life took a transformative turn when she immigrated to Brockville in 1949. Settling into the converted St. Albans school, she crossed paths with Robert Mainwaring, the son of the school’s Headmaster, and their union shaped her destiny. Together, they embarked on a shared passion for horses, opening an equestrian facility on the school’s grounds in 1957. As the years passed, Eve’s presence in the equestrian community grew, and she became a co-owner of the renowned Canadian show-jumping horse, Big Ben. Her journey was not without its challenges, .
