Saratoga Horse Sales is one of the oldest and most buzzed-about horse sales in equestrian history. The Saratoga Yearling Sale is at its highest; day one witnessed some great yearlings under the hammer. The sales on day one garnered some historic numbers as colts and fillies from two champion horses were present to find their new homes. Day 1 of Saratoga sales went bonkers as more than two horses went for over $1 million. These sales were reported to have broken all the previous records for sales at Saratoga.

Day 2 at Fasig Tipton also started off with a colt bagging a whopping $4 million. His father was the American Horse of the Year twice, and henceforth they rallied behind him to make him their own.

As reported by Blood Horse, during the commencement of the second day, agent Donato Lanni bought a colt sired by Curlin for $4 million. The colt with Hip 165 was bought on behalf of Zedan Racing’s Amr Zedan. The consigner at the Fasig Tipton talked about the horse and stated, “I have never sold an yealring that has so much stallion power; that was a lot of money, but there could be a lot of return.” He wished luck to the owners and was hopeful that the horse would do great for them. Popular Hall of Fame horse trainer Bob Bafffert was also present at the auction, and he spoke about the colt and the price he bagged.

He said his mother was a handful, and the colt is a handful too, and he added that that kind of money with such a pedigree is very rare. Now the horse will be transported to California for further training and preparation for competitive events. The colt was sired by Curlin, who was the Horse of the Year in 2007 and 2008. His mother is Beholder, who is known for the history she made after defeating Songbird in the 2016 Breeder’s Cup. Now the owners must be expecting him to replicate his parents’ performances. He was not the only colt who made history at the Fasig Tipton, as there were a couple of horses who grabbed some big numbers.
