“Rest in Peace”: Survivor of Vicious Attack, Miracle Horse Passes Away at 23

The equestrian world is saddened by the passing away of the 23-year-old rescue horse, Rudy. Before his demise, the miracle horse was in good health and showed no signs of ailments. And because of the same reason, his caretakers are shocked and disheartened after his untimely and unwarranted death. Blaze’s Tribute Equine Rescue, a rescue organization, took Rudy under their wing in 2015. 

At the time, he had suffered severe injuries from a dog attack. He had lost an eye, and the dogs had bitten his ears off in the attack. Despite the serious damage, the horse miraculously survived. After being rescued, he stayed there for eight years and peacefully passed away in his sleep. Following his untimely demise, his rescuer shared a heartwarming post to break the saddening news to the world.

Miracle Horse Rudy passes away

A few hours ago, Rudy’s caretaker took to Facebook and shared a heartfelt note with pictures of the horse. The caption read, “My heart is shattered and I can’t believe that I’m having to make this post. Very suddenly and unexpectedly, we lost our Amazing Rudy yesterday!” She further added that Rudy was precious and one of a kind. Moreover, Rudy taught them how to live and love life to the fullest. They believe Rudy, too, started to enjoy his life more, after the incident eight years ago.

Talking about the once full-of-life horse, she added, “He was an inspiration to me and so many others. He lived life to the fullest, never skipped a beat, or missed an opportunity to be cantankerous and play, he was my diva, as I would call him. He loved the attention and always enjoyed being the spotlight!”

Overwhelmed by the emotions, she further added that words won’t be enough to define that beautiful soul. They never imagined that their time together would be of just eight years. Furthermore, along with his caretakers, Rudy’s companion Crash is also mourning the loss.

The last moments of the fighter horse

The rescuer further mentioned in the post that the miracle horse left on his own terms. The 23-year-old horse wasn’t sick or suffering. He just laid down for a nap and passed away during his sleep because of natural causes. They estimated his time of death to be between 4-5 pm on 29th March 2023. As life slowly slipped out of Rudy’s body, his buddy Crash patiently stood by him and watched over him.

While the news is undoubtedly disheartening, his caretakers look at it as a blessing. This is because they dreaded that a day would come when they’ll have to put him down. “I know he went peacefully and I couldn’t ask for more. I just wish we had more time together. Rudy, I love you so much! Thank you for blessing my life for the last 8 years!… I know you will be waiting for me on the other side! Rest In Peace my Beautiful Boy Rudy!”

Despite meeting each other in unfortunate circumstances, Rudy had a great time at Blaze’s Tribute Equine Rescue Organization. As his journey ends after twenty-three years, may his soul rest in peace.
