Jockey Flavien Prat embarked on a journey that would etch his name in equestrian history. Born in France, Prat’s riding prowess and innate connection with his mounts have propelled him to victories in prestigious races. He has victories in events such as the Kentucky Derby and Breeders’ Cup.

Known for his ability to bring out the best in every horse he rides has earned him admiration and respect from trainers, owners, and racing enthusiasts worldwide. Fireworks weren’t the only spectacle lighting up the skies at the Independence Day celebrations at Belmont Park, as Prat celebrated the 4th of July in the most fascinating way.

A twitter handle, named The NYRA, tweeted his feet at Belmont Park, writing, “Flavien Prat celebrated Independence Day by posting five wins from eight mounts on Tuesday’s 10-race card at Belmont Park!”.  With an electric energy, the day began with the $125,000 Port Washington Stakes. Prat expertly guided the talented Whatlovelookslike, trained by renowned Hall of Famer Todd Pletcher, through the twists and turns of the 1 1/16-mile inner turf course. Whatlovelookslike, a filly making her stakes debut, fought off fierce challenges from Runaway Rumour and Golden Rocket to secure a remarkable victory that set the tone for Prat’s extraordinary day.

In Race 4, Prat was aboard Frat Pack, a colt trained by Chad Brown. With a keen sense of timing and strategy, Prat positioned Frat Pack perfectly, seizing the lead in a blaze of speed and leaving his rivals in the dust. As the races continued, Flavien Prat’s magic seemed to permeate the atmosphere. In Race 6, he partnered with the talented Heaven Street, trained by Brendan Walsh. With each stride, horse and rider moved in perfect harmony, dominating the seven-furlong Widener turf allowance optional claimer for older horses.

Equestrian Maestro

The day of triumph reached its zenith as Prat returned to the winner’s circle once more in Race 9, this time aboard the George Weaver-trained King Moonracer. Prat expertly guided King Moonracer through a crowded field in a thrilling sprint across the six-furlong Widener turf, defying the odds and emerging as the unlikely victor. Flavien Prat saved the best for last as the sun set on this historic day.

He partnered with Highland Grace, a promising filly trained by Barclay Tagg, in the final race, Race 10. Prat summoned his reserves of skill and determination as the field thundered down the 10-furlong inner turf. Highland Grace surged ahead, leaving her competitors trailing behind, with a deep-stretch surge that seemed to defy gravity. Prat’s victories have set the stage for an exciting season as the final weekend at Belmont approaches and the excitement of live racing moves to Saratoga Racecourse for the summer meet.
