The Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT) has been on a break with the arrival of year-end. A month ago, the event saw its ultimate show-jumping champion for the year as Julien Epaillard galloped to victory at the Super Grand Prix. Now with the next season months away and the Christmas season dawning over, the equestrian team at LGCT has stepped forward to join in on the celebrations.
Since the Advent Calendar period has made its arrival, the LGCT has decided to hop in on the traditions. Starting December 1st, the team has challenged one equestrian each day to count down the days for festivities. In its recent post, the LGCT had the Olympic equestrian, Jessica Springsteen, as the guest for a fun update.

The LGCT started the tradition right on December 1st with renowned equestrian Sanne Thijssen. As she kicked off the series, answering the origin of Christmas Tree traditions, the rest kept up with a successful run. And for the 14th day of the Advent Calendar opening, it was Jessica Springsteen that LGCT caught up with, presenting a challenge. Keeping on the holiday track, the Olympian was quizzed on the Christmas carol, ’12 Days of Christmas.’ The team asked, “What was given on the 7th day in the mentioned song”.
Jessica’s initial reaction, captured on LGCT’s Instagram stories, presented an unsure answer. However, the equestrian came around. Springsteen neatly maneuvered from saying ‘seven singing swans,’ to “seven swans a-swimming.” The answer earned Jessica a chocolate surprise from the crew as she remarked, “Amazing, nailed it.” The holiday sparkles seemed to have followed Jessica around as she returned, shining from a recent Grand Slam.

Jessica scored a double clear on the former to earn a 6th position in the Rolex Grand Prix 1.60m event. “Best boy in the jumping clear in the Rolex GP of @chigeneve,” the equestrian wrote, and rightfully so. The duo has together clinched an Olympic silver, won the GCT of London, and even been a part of the winning team Nations Cup at San Juan. With the Olympics nearing, the duo alongside Naomi will look to get back on the esteemed stage.
