Sometimes taking a day off from your regular routine can be refreshing. Athletes are also often seen pursuing their favorite hobbies when not indulging in their usual schedule. Especially when it is about enjoying some other sport than what they do regularly. One such sport that athletes from various disciplines have admired immensely is equestrian sports; many of them have been spotted on numerous occasions spending time with these magnificent creatures. An NHL goaltender was spotted recently, savoring his time while enjoying a day of testing his equestrian skills.

Along similar lines, the NHL prodigy, Philipp Grubauer shared pictures of this adventure on his social media handle, and they are enough to leave anyone in awe of the beauty of this sport. The goaltender appears to be thoroughly enjoying his time with the horse, showing great involvement in the moment.

German Ice Hockey goaltender Philipp Grubauer, who plays for the Seattle Kraken in the National Hockey League, shared the pictures of his equestrian escapades. In the caption, he penned, “Weeeell, I’m gonna take my horse…” In this series of pictures, Grubauer is seen cleaning the horse with a brush in the first one. In the second picture, he appears to be taking a walk in the stable with his equestrian partner.

This is not the first time Grubauer has been seen spending time with a horse; he regularly uploads images of horses on his social media. His love for horses is not hidden from his fans, who follow him regularly on his social media handles. He is so involved in this sport that he also owns a horse named Tucker, which he has shared pictures of on his Instagram as well. Well, he may have been spotted having an off-season of Ice hockey, but this $24,907,073-worth goaltender has achieved so much in the NHL as well.

Philipp Grubauer’s NHL career

Grubauer was picked by the Washington Capitals as the 112th overall pick at the 2010 NHL draft in the fourth round. 2015 was a breakthrough year for him when he became the first player of German descent to win the Stanley Cup playoffs. He won the Stanley Cup with the Capitals later in 2018. In 2018, he was traded to the Colorado Avalanche and played for them for three seasons.

In 2021, he signed a six-year deal worth more than $35 million with the Seattle Kraken. In February 2022, he became the first ever goaltender from Kraken to record a shutout. With career earnings of more than $24 million, he is 601st ranked in NHL and Ice Hockey earnings. In his decade-long career, Grubauer has achieved so much, both professionally and individually.
