On November 2022, Microsoft billionaire Bill Gates received one of the best news of his life. He was soon to become a grandfather then, and this changed the way he looked at his entire fortune. Gates decided to donate his entire wealth of $121 billion to his foundation, in an attempt to make this world a better place for his grandkids. Now his daughter, famous equestrian Jennifer Gates, is following in her father’s shoes, bringing forth yet another noble cause to the forefront, while also juggling her motherhood responsibilities.

Jennifer Gates recently took to her social media informing everyone about an international NGO that is behind a noble effort, an effort to make education accessible to everyone. She urged everyone to involve themselves in this philanthropic activity.

Jennifer Gates took to her Instagram to shed light on the international NGO, Thinking Huts. An image on her Instagram story read, “What is Thinking Huts? An International NGO on a mission to increase access to education with architectural-scale 3D printing to construct schools in a fraction of the time”. The simple fact that there aren’t nearly enough schools for students in the world is alarming. Thinking Huts wishes to change that, and she is helping them in their endeavor.

In her next story, another image read, “Join me and Thinking Huts to help complete their Honeycomb campus for 3 villages of children on the west coast of Madagascar”. The organization highlights the fact that around 250 million people around the globe do not have access to education. And such an issue of large scale could not go unnoticed by Jennifer Gates.

Thinking Huts was founded by Maggie Grout around 8 years ago when she discovered the true potential of technology combined with architecture to make schools accessible to all. It was Grout’s early childhood experiences that made her hell-bent on making this world a better place.

The noble legacy continues

Maggie Grout was born in rural China, where she was abandoned in a basket until found by an orphanage worker. However, she was fortunate enough to avail good education and build a good life for herself. As tragic as her ordeal sounds, Grout realized things could have been far uglier for her had she not been picked by the orphanage and received an education. She started to realize that there might be many more girls like her who don’t even get what she had. And thus started the idea that germinated into Thinking Huts.

Jennifer Gates was fascinated by their concept and their ambition to bring about such goodness in the world. She even decided to match the total money raised via public donations and donate the total amount to the NGO.

His eldest daughter has imbibed those exact same values from her father and is doing her part to make this world a better place.
