Equestrian has been a sport that requires strict discipline along with talent and skills. If one is not able to control their rides in the arena, then it comes with some serious repercussions and can turn out to be a dire situation. Days after a group of jockeys banded together at Belmont Park against the suspension given to a famous jockey, it looks like someone else is again in trouble for committing a similar fault.

It was reported not long ago that a famous jockey was accused of winning a prestigious race by committing a professional foul and could face some serious consequences for the upcoming races.

On Tuesday, it was reported by The Sun that Jamie Spencer had been accused of using a professional foul to take home a stake of more than $2,06,550. Spencer has clinched the victory on Via Sistina in the Pretty Polly Stakes that took place on Saturday in Curragh, Ireland. But this win for him and his mare is making the rounds in the Equestrian World.

The owners of Stay Alert, the horse that came in second place, have accused Via Sistina. They assetted that after the end of the Group 1 contest, Spencer’s ride hung to the right side and bumped into the rival Rosscarberry. Then Rosscarberry bumped into the Stay Alert, which hampered her speed and resulted in the win of Via Sistina. There are millions of dollars at stake if the foul has been taken into consideration by the Officials.

More Than $1,31,000 is at Stake

According to Morrison, the owner of Stay Alert, “It’s been quoted to me by numerous people that it was a professional foul, and if justice is seen to be done, we’ll get it on appeal.” He has challenged the decision to declare Spencer the winner and said there was a lot at stake, and when there is interference, it shouldn’t be considered.

The difference between Spencer’s Via Sistina and Morrison’s Stay Alert is worth more than $1,31,000, which makes it a decision that should be taken into account. But Sistina’s trainer is convinced by her win and regards her as too fast.

It looks like Spencer and his ride’s win has not gone too well, and if the amount is taken into consideration and if the foul is proved, then he might end up in trouble.
