The 2023 Kentucky Derby is only days away, and with that comes the last-minute preparations for the equines and their mounts. While the presumptive favorite Forte is honing up his skills, Into Mischief’s gray colt Rocket Can is securing attention too. Just a few weeks ago, his participation was uncertain, but now Rocket Can is again back on the track training with his rider.

Bill Mott, Hall of Fame horse trainer, is hopeful to watch him get a good score and finish the line first. Knowing that Rocket Can has some incredible potential to show the world, Mott is impatiently waiting for the judgment day.

The contenders have already arrived in Louisville weeks before the event. Just like the other horses, Rocket Can too is preparing for the race. In fact, his training sessions are going very well making him one of the favorite contenders for the Derby. As per the reports by WDRB, Mott is looking forward to winning the event after remaining winless for the last 3 years. Eyeing this year’s race he said, “I’d love to run a horse and cross the finish line first, and we’re going to keep trying until that happens.

Keeping his impending performance in mind, he added, “I think a big question is how is he going to do going a mile and quarter. He certainly has some pedigree strength on the bottom part of his pedigree with some distance. … Hopefully that’ll show up on Derby Day.” By completing five furlongs in one minute while practicing, Rocket Can is garnering attention toward him.

Evidently, the thoroughbred is all set to making history and as a projection of his feat, Rocket Can recently surpassed 34 other horses and etched his name in the first place. The grade 3 Holy Bull Stakes winner, completed a bullet half-mile in just 46.60 seconds, starting one length behind his stablemate.

Rocket Can broke his own record by completing five furlongs in 59.20 seconds and six furlongs in 1:12.60. With that brilliant form it’s now just a matter of time to watch him come out as a winner.
