In 23 months, he leads the FEI U-25 rankings, exuding his extraordinary ability. This was demonstrated through his outstanding showdown at Casas Novas as well.

At just 24, Harry Charles has made a name in the British national squad because of his prowess in equestrian. He rose speedily; and took part in the 2021 Olympic Games and 2022 World Championship. He further participated in European championships. It was that year that he rose through the FEI ladder at an unprecedented pace.

Recently, FEI.TV released a fascinating story on Instagram showcasing Harry Charles’ excellent feat. The caption lauded the victory, stating, “@harry_I & Billabong du Roumois triumph in the Caixabank Trophy in La Coruna.”

On the opening day of A Coruna 2023 CSI5-W, the €100,000 CaixaBank Trophy CSI 5-W concluded with Harry Charles from Great Britain claiming victory for the second consecutive year alongside his steed, Billabong du Roumois. The competition saw fierce action from 44 riders vying for 12 remaining slots. Julien Epaillard of France initially set an impressive pace atop the standings with Cancun Torel Z, closely followed by compatriot Julien Anquetin riding Blood Diamond du Pont.

Just when a French triumph seemed likely, the young British talent, Harry Charles, stormed the ring with Billabong du Roumois. Charles clocked in at 55.64 seconds, edging out Epaillard and securing his victory for the second year in a row, much to the crowd’s applause at the Casas Novas Equestrian Center. The final standings showcased Charles in the top spot, followed closely by Epaillard and Anquetin in second and third place, respectively.

Harry Charles’ stellar performance at CSI5

In November, Harry Charles experienced an exceptional triumph at the CSI5 Stuttgart German Masters, securing a winning double of a whopping 59.30. The British showjumping star showcased his prowess by clinching second place with Billabong Du Roumois in the opening speed class and claiming a convincing 1.55m victory the following day.

His standout moment came in the night event as he triumphed aboard Aralyn Blue in the 1.55m Stuttgart German Master, culminating a remarkable week despite finishing as a runner-up with Casquo Blue in the Longines FEI World Cup qualifier behind Kevin Staut. “It’s amazing what Casquo can do with his body, how athletic he is, and today he had a bit of speed in him as well,” added Harry, crediting the brilliant team around him for “letting me have weekends like this”. Harry expressed gratitude to his team and hailed the competition as one of the best shows in his career, reflecting on the thrill of the victory and the support from the enthusiastic crowd.
