The sport of equestrian is filled with legendary horses and their stories of supremacy. Forte is definitely one such horse who has been a dominant force for the last few months. He has some major Grade I and Grade II titles under his belt and is considered the next big thing in the equestrian realm. However, he faced a major setback in his career this year when he had to opt out of the Kentucky Derby. He was taken out of the race due to a bruised foot and could not participate. Now it looks like he has recovered from the injury and is all set to excel in the upcoming Grade I Travers Stakes.

But his outing in the Travers Stakes won’t be as easy as it sounds because he will be facing some of biggest equestrian names in the race. The race will also feature this season’s triple crown champions, posing a formidable challenge for him.

As per the reports of Horse Racing Nation, the race will be hosted by Saratoga on Saturday, where the world will witness some of the greatest equine athletes sweating it out for the title. This $1,250,000-worth event will also feature the triple crown winners of the season, which has not happened since 1982. Forte will be challenged by Mage, who clinched the Kentucky Derby title in just his fourth start of his career. He will also be taking on Arcangelo, who won the 2023 Belmont Stakes, and National Treasure, the winner of the 2023 Preakness Stakes. Notably, Arcangelo is on a winning streak in the last three starts of his career, and National Treasure won the only race of his career, the Preakness Stakes.

Apart from these three, Forte will also receive competition from Grade I Blue Grass winner Tapit Trice, Grade III Matt Winn winner Disarm, and Scotland, who is trained by Hall of Famer William Mott. However, Forte will step into the race as the crowd’s favorite, as he is the reigning Breeders’ Cup Juvenile winner. He also missed the Belmont Stakes title by just a few inches after his return from the injury. While he could face stiff competition from his fellow competitors, Forte’s track record tells a different tale. When his statistics are carefully examined, it becomes clear that Forte is poised to emerge as a formidable contender on the Saratoga track on August 26th.
