Transitions are always appreciated in the sporting world. One such renowned breeder took it a step further in cementing a utilitarian business model. River Oak is what an equestrian breeder created with his passion for horses and skills in horse training. He made River Oak one of the most lucrative horse ranches by assembling dependable partners and applying his equine and business skills.

Nathan got his inspiration when one of his trained horses, Free Rose, won a competition. The confidence boost was sufficient for Nathan to devote his entire time to the growth and improvement of the horses, achieving a longstanding desire. A state-of-the-art business model was deployed which is not just sustainable but serves the greater good as well. River Oak Farm, one of the most profitable and developing horse ranches, rose to prominence after automobile entrepreneur Nathan McCauley took its reins.

Today, River Oak is one of the largest horse farms in the world, producing numerous high-quality horses such as Eda, Free Rose, and Arabian Knight. Eda earned her grade 1 status after winning the Starlet Stakes (G1). He was overjoyed to have bred a Grade 1 winner, as it is a rare opportunity to do so. He had to make his life viable through his passion after exiting his automobile business and life behind.

Nathan has trapped many huge money horses and created a core business around the trading of mares with his loyal and major collaborator Leslie Campion, who has been dealing with him for the past 15 years. River Oak has given more than 100 mares in the last 4–5 years, despite an annual record of roughly 20–40 mares. Profits are then spent on long-term plans such as stallion shares, lifelong breeding rights, stallions, and their core broodmare band, all with the goal of producing exceptional racehorses.

Carlos, like Leslie, has been a consistent influence on the growth of River Oak for the past 15 years. He began as normal farm staff and has worked his way up to the position of farm manager. He had delivered Eda personally using his equine expertise and has made competitors envious of his presence at River Oak. While Nathan stated that he changed careers owing to his passion for horses, he would not have been able to achieve what he had today without the assistance of his coworkers at River Oak.

He developed a passion for horses from an early age, and with time and determination, he was able to transition to full-time equestrian. He wanted to be totally immersed in something he liked while assisting the community from the sidelines in his initial position at automobiles.

McCauley is a perfect example of someone who pursued his ambition and built a name for himself in the world. While many attempted and failed owing to sustainability concerns, Nathan developed a passion for horses so large that he could easily thrive off of from it.
