Irishman, Daniel Coyle, 29, a notable participant in the latest Longines FEI Jumping World Cup, paused to talk about the unusual moniker of his standout mare, Legacy. Coyle and 13-year-old Legacy put on an electrifying show during the exciting horse jump-off. In an Instagram post by Horse and Hound, Coyle was seemingly not very cheerful about his third-place finish, although was appreciative and called the team his family and added that Legacy was by my side all the time.”

Coyle continued: why ‘Legacy is called Legacy’ and went on to explain it saying, “nobody knew what was going to happen whether the farm was going to close but Ariel took over and uh took control of everything and the first horse she bought was Legacy and she wasn’t called Legacy she was called Chev and she changed her name to Legacy so that’s also quite a special part.”

The pair captivated the audience and made a lasting impression with their outstanding performance, earning them a well-deserved third place. Interestingly, this World Cup season, the battle for the podium was really fierce, with only 8/10 of a second separating the podium finishers. Not new to winning with legacy, just last month Coyle dropped a worthwhile show at Winter Fair.
