Christian Simonson, the 22-year-old, turned heads in the equestrian world in 2023. With his undeniable love for horses and immense talent, he claimed the podium in dressage with Team USA at the Pan American Games. He clinched the top spot with his equine companion, Son of a Lady, affectionately called ‘Sonny’.

The duo melted the hearts of fans like a match made in heaven. Now fast forward to months later, assisting the team that united him to the 11-year-old Danish warmblood horse, Simonson sent out a heartfelt plea to coalesce another stallion to a forever home.

 Simonson’s gift of the gab gives an equine solace

In an Instagram video uploaded by Micha Knol and Christian Simonson, the 22-year-old Pan Am champ was seen atop the Desperado x Gribaldi gelding Jesperado. In the video, Simonson lovingly patted the beautiful equine while the caption narrated a POV by Jesperado, who described himself as a handsome, black, 16.2-h (hands-high) gelding and noted why he was an ideal equine companion. The post pointed out how Jesperado has competed up to the third level with an amateur owner, following which he moved up to the PSG (Prix St. Georges) level with scores up to 67%. So, I am legitimately an FEI horse now !!!” read the caption.

Further details shared also stated that Jesperado has had a complete PPE, including X-rays of the back and neck, available for review. Micha Knol and Christian Simonson hope to unite the equine with a loving and passionate forever home for the super-sweet Jesperado. It is important to note that this is not the first time Simonson has been associated with Knol, but the two have shared successful equestrian partnerships.

How Micha Knol played a huge role in Simonson’s life

Micha Knol is a passionate equestrian and has experience in both dressage and show jumping. Knol was a part of corporate life, and in 2015, Micha decided to take a break and follow his dream of riding Grand Prix in Florida. After spending four months in Ocala, where he earned USDF silver and even gold medals, he met Ryan Bell, and together they started MRK Dressage in Atlanta.

Here, the team specializes in sourcing, importing, and selling high-quality dressage horses. Micha Knol and MRK Dressage, with a talent for finding the right horses for riders, helped Christian Simonson find his horse, Son of a Lady, with whom he won team gold at the Pan American Games.
