The 2024 edition unfolded at the iconic St. Jakobshalle from January 11th to 16th. It continued its tradition of hosting top-tier competitions. In a notable expansion, this year marked the inclusion of vaulting competitions. This addition added an exciting new dimension to the event’s repertoire.
As the event concluded today, the governing body extended heartfelt salutations to the exceptional performers in the jumping and dressage competitions. The top three riders, distinguished for their prowess and skill, are deserving of applause and recognition for their remarkable achievements.

FEI Longines CHI Classics Basel unveils a litany of temptresses of equestrian
FEI.TV recently treated its Instagram followers to a captivating post spotlighting the standout performers at the FEI Longines CHI Classics Basel. The post featured a series of images, with the first capturing the triumphant Pieter Devos. In Basel, Switzerland, at the tenth leg of the 2023/2024 Longines FEI Equestrian Jumping World Cup Western European League series, Devos (BEL) clinched a thrilling victory alongside Mom’s Toupie de La Roque.

In the second image, the top three jumping performers were highlighted. Pieter Devos led the pack with a time of 36.942. Janika Sprunger and Orelie claimed the second spot with a clear round and a time of 40.19. Austria’s Max Kuhner and Eic Cooley Jump The Q secured third place despite four faults, clocking in with an incredibly fast time of 35.59. Yet, the post went the extra mile, presenting a third image that showcased the top three dressage performers.

Equestrian dressage: Von Bredow-Werndl and her stallion secure top 3 in Basel
The world’s top-ranked duo is Jessica von Bredow-Werndl of Germany and her mount TSF Dalera BB. They showcased their unmatched prowess at the FEI Dressage World Cup 2023/2024 Western European League in Basel, Switzerland. Von Bredow-Werndl secured a resounding victory with a stellar score of 91.010%. Their remarkable performance in the Freestyle exceeded even their personal best, standing at 91.732%.
In the standings, Isabell Werth secured the second position. She rode Emilio 107 and scored 87.950%. Claiming the third position were Matthias Alexander Rath and Destacado FRH. Von Bredow-Werndl, as the reigning champion, secures an automatic qualification for the FEI Dressage World Cup Final 2024 in Riyadh (KSA). However, she chose not to participate, focusing on the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
