The Colegio de la Vizcainas in Mexico City is not just the epitome of baroque art but also the site of a major equestrian resurgence. Last year, the FEI celebrated the success of a young eventer from Great Britain in Cape Town. Surprisingly, another young female rider laid claim to the same award from the United States, which promulgated America?s influence on the global sport.
The beautiful architectural marvel at the center of Mexico City was chosen as the venue for an equestrian award show. The FEI Awards Gala joined hands with Longines to celebrate the victories of rising talents in the sport. This year, the event was close to a recap and included one very special athlete from the United States.
FEI Award show celebrates equestrian excellence

FEI Global uploaded a carousel of photos from the award show that took place on November 21. The Instagram post was captioned, ?A fiesta to remember! The FEI Awards Gala, presented by Longines, celebrated international and home-grown winners across four categories of equestrian excellence in magical Mexico this evening. Congratulations to all of the wonderful winners!? Among the big winners on the night was a young equestrian practitioner from the United States.

Mimi Gochman brought home the Longines FEI Rising Star Award. This 19-year-old New Yorker has taken the equestrian world by storm with her streaks of success at the FEI Jumping Nations Cup and FEI Jumping U25 Rankings. The German ace received the award via video call from Martin Atock, the Managing Director of Peden Bloodstock. They weren?t the only two big winners of the night, though.

Another double triumph
Finnish equestrian Emma Uusi-Simola made away with the prestigious Cavalor FEI Best Groom Award. The award served to recognize her pioneering work in the grooming industry for the last decade. While receiving the award from the hands of Liselotte Hamerlinck, Cavalor?s MD, she said, ?Horses are my whole life. I love to work with them because they challenge me every day?.

It was going in the direction of another all-female winner on the podium. But everything changed with the inclusion of the new category. Mexico?s Federico Fern?ndez Senderos is a symbol of determination, and the FEI decided to honor him with the newly minted Pivo FEI Inspire Award. Besides the accolades, these four winners also share a deep love for horses and equestrian sports.
