I can’t even begin to put into words how humbled I am by your belief and support. I obviously can’t name you all, but I hope that you know how incredibly grateful I am.”

She pointed out how she wanted to master her disabilities by trying to ride a horse at the tender age of 6. She also reminisced about how coming from a family with no equestrian background was tough. But she was immensely grateful to the RDA, who volunteered and took her under their wings to nurture Christiansen. 

The 36-year-old recalled her first Paralympic clean sweep of gold medals back in London in 2012. Thrilled at the prospect of 10,000 people cheering “We love you, Sophie,” along with her brother and sister, it was like a dream for her.
