One of the most promising equine partners is all set to break into the equestrian headlines again. Mage, the 2023 debutant, will be appearing in a race next month, and its value is millions. This equestrian sensation was the winner of the (G1) Kentucky Derby 2023 and is all set to make a comeback.

He will be appearing in a major stakes race this week as a part of his future preparations for next month. The news was confirmed by his trainer and the owners.

The news was reported by horse racing nation: Mage will be appearing in a race at Monmouth Park for the $1 million Grade 1 Haskell Stakes. The news of this was confirmed by his owner, Ramiro Restrepo, who stated it was part of the plan.

The ‘plan’ here means Mage will be participating in a Grade 1, $1.25 million Travers at Saratoga next month. In his statement, Restrepo said, “The Travers is our summer crown jewel,” and he further added, “That’s been our goal, and it was how do we get him to the Travers?”

Owners want him to have the experience of Saratoga, which is going to be a new experience for the colt. It will also help him for the prep race at Travers. On Wednesday, the 3-year-old will be transported to New Jersey to reach the shore, and it will reach the shore in the evening. They had to make this decision because Mage was placed 3rd at the Preakness on May 20, and henceforth he needs proper training at Travers. If his skills are to be taken into consideration, he seems to be ready.
