The excitement the equestrian enthusiasts feel when the equines hit the racecourse is the same as when any equestrian estate goes up for sale. The palpable excitement surging through one’s veins as they train horses amid opulent and regal mansions is a feeling unlike any other. Nowadays, big names of the global entertainment industry are taking an interest in this sport. Starting with Bella and Gigi Hadid to Victoria Beckham and Madonna, several other stars have confessed their love for equestrianism. In the same vein, another personality has expressed her knack uniquely.

Sally Jessy Raphael, the 88-year-old former tabloid talk show host of Sally, had once turned heads in the journalism and broadcasting realm. But little did the world know that she’s a proprietor of a spectacular equestrian property. But now she has put the behemoth mansion up for sale. Let’s delve into a property that’s literally larger than life.

The history of this estate dates back to 1744, following its official establishment in 1860. But since 1997, Raphael had taken care of it diligently. But now it’s time for her to find a worthy successor. Nestled on the summit of Quaker Hill, Elmwood Farm, the property takes pride in being a 43-room Elizabethan Style manor house. The manor has brilliantly catered to its historical roots. Boasting a total of 15000 square feet, the property has a yoga studio, a huge 12000 sq ft stable, a pair of caretaker homes and groom quarters attached with a carriage house.

The mansion also features 9 baths, 17 bedrooms, and 10 fireplaces. But the most noteworthy highlight is the long gated drive. Horse lovers who also enjoy sunsets can get a stunning view from the sunset-facing veranda from the porte cochere. The bedrooms have ample space, which doesn’t just include beds, but a seating area as well. Moreover, the huge kitchen with marble counters, floor-to-ceiling arched windows and a small chapel give an extra oomph. But that’s not all.

The carriage snuggled in the overgrown formal garden has a swimming pool and a tennis court. The equestrian facilities and the house are linked by a vast lawn, which may need some fix-ups. The foyer inside the mansion has a grand oak staircase, stack of books for beautification and dozens of newel posts topped by hand-carved animals. The living room is wood-panelled and the dining room has red ceilings with chandeliers hanging from the roof.
