In a report published by Ledbury Reporter, her father Ryan Dorise revealed that Poppy faced a unique challenge—she couldn’t see over the fences. However, this didn’t deter her spirit. In fact, she defied the odds and surpassed riders five years older than her. Poppy’s incredible achievements have left her father bursting with pride, emphasizing that receiving a ticket to such a prestigious event is the epitome of every child’s dream.

Little Poppy, a student at Hereford Cathedral Junior School, her love affair with riding began even before she could even walk. At the tender age of six, she was already perched atop a horse, exploring the thrilling world of show jumping. It was evident from the start that Poppy possessed a natural affinity for these majestic animals.

A Rising Star in the Equestrian World

On May 21, at the renowned Arena UK, Poppy secured her first victory in the 138cms Horse of the Year category. Despite her legs barely reaching the stirrups, her determination and skill propelled her to the top, outshining riders older and more experienced than her. This remarkable triumph was just the beginning of a remarkable journey.

Only a week later, Dorise proved her mettle once again by claiming her second ticket, this time in the 148cms category for riders up to 16 years old. The equestrian world was left in awe as this young talent showcased her impeccable technique and fearlessness on the course. The 9-year-old’s dedication toward her craft and her unwavering passion for speed and jumping have set her on a trajectory toward greatness.
