Hollywood’s Material Girl singer has always been an equine enthusiast on the side. 64-year-old singer Madonna has an affinity for horses. Ever since the star adopted a typical English country lifestyle along with her then-husband, Guy Ritchie, horse riding became a part and parcel of her life.

The love never faded away even after some serious blows. Although the pop star suffered serious injuries after a horse-riding session went wrong, it didn’t stop her from getting back on track. In fact, Madonna even went ahead and splurged on two purebred horses a few years ago. Let’s take a look at her tryst with horses.

Madonna fell for horses despite her dangerous landing

In 2005, the singer-songwriter wished to spend her 47th birthday in London, riding horses and having a gala time. The celebrations were put to a tragic end when Madonna fell while riding a new horse. She ended up with broken bones, cracked ribs, and a damaged collarbone. Despite this, she never stopped loving horses and got back into horse riding soon after.

The pop star’s love for horses grew by leaps and bounds. Even after suffering some serious injuries, Madonna never spoke ill of horses or her horse-riding hobby. Eventually, she resumed horse riding and added two more horses to her herd. And these two horses represented luxury in terms of their breed and price.

The Papa Don’t Preach singer spent about $215,650 on two purebred horses from Portugal in 2018. According to the Portuguese news outlet Correio da Manhã, the two Lusitanos carried a hefty price each. The Portugal News reported that she purchased them through a riding school she frequented. Apart from Madonna, several celebrities have found their love amongst the equines. One of them is supermodel Bella Hadid who recently got back to her first love, competitive horse riding.

Bella’s return to the saddle

After a tough journey with Lyme disease, supermodel Bella Hadid sparked speculations about her return to equestrian sports after many years. The star began horse-riding at the age of three, and being an equestrian was her biggest dream.

Hadid had to let go of her goals of pursuing equestrian sports as a career after her disease symptoms got worse. Despite this setback, the model took to Instagram to post videos of her working with her horses while she jumped over obstacles with them. Fans were extremely happy seeing the star’s return and encouraged her to continue toward her passion.
