As reported by Horse Racing Nation, ever since White Abarrio won the Grade I Whitney Stakes on August 5, 2023, at Saratoga Race Course, he has become the most buzzed-about topic in the equestrian world. He is now considered the top contender for the Breeder’s Cup Classic in Santa Anita in November. His longtime rival, West Will Power, the winner of Grade I Stephen Foster, has also retired this year. With West Will Power gone, Abarrio is considered his replacement.

West Will Power was considered the second-best horse after Cody’s Wish in the older horse division. In a comparison of White Abarrio and West Will Power, Abarrio seems to have a lead in this collation. In his second start of 2023, he secured the title of Grade I winner, though the credit for this win also goes to his trainer, Richard E. Dutrow, Jr. Both of these stars are alike in terms of racing style, and Abarrio has improved his approach in the last year. There is pretty much nothing to compare between these two, apart from the wins.
