Bill Gates bought the 15 million property in New York at a time when Jennifer was moving to the city to continue her studies. The expensive property is located in the Westchester town of North Salem which is 35 miles away from Manhattan.
In 2021, Jennifer and Nassar chose it as their memorable wedding venue where they would say “I do” to each other. It was a quintessentially lavish farmhouse with multiple barns, paddocks, and training rings. However, ahead of the wedding, the property went under around-the-clock construction, preparing elaborated pavilions with floor-to-ceiling windows and hardwood floor additions.
The constant bustling noises of the construction site had overwhelmed the dwellers around. At one point, neighbor Lynda Dupree expressed her discontent with the troubling experience. She told New York Post in an interview, “I went and spoke to someone. I told them we’ve all lived here forever, and we’ve always respected the [Gates’] privacy since they have moved in, and I don’t think anybody was respecting ours.”
She expressed that there was a lack of consideration for the dwellers in the neighborhood. Empathizing with their neighbors’ situation, the couple, Jennifer and Nayel, tried to apologize for the inconvenience by gifting them wine bottles and embossed cards with the message, ‘Please bear with us, we know we have a shared neighborhood and we love North Salem’.
The sweet gesture appealed to the neighbors afterward as they began cooperating with the construction noises for a few days. Currently, Jennifer and Nayel are living in a $51 million penthouse in Manhattan.
