Bill Gates’ eldest daughter Jennifer Gates is famous for her equestrian skills. Apart from being a successful equestrian, Jenn is also completing her medical course at Mount Sinai in New York. She was positively influenced by her parents which is reflected in her career choices. Not just that, she credits her medical career to her parent’s dinner table discussions, as well.
Jenn is outspoken about how her parent’s support helped her balance two careers without much trouble. Bill Gates once rented a 7300sq ft, eight-bedroom mansion in Florida so that 15-year-old Jenn could train for Winter Equestrian Festival. The equestrian also credits her travel genes to her parents.
Jennifer Gates inherited her love for traveling from her parents

In an interview for the magazine Equestrian Living in 2019, Jenn quoted saying,” I love travel.” She continued, “ I think I got the travel bug from my parents.” Later this love for traveling helped Jenn to move away from home and fly across the globe as a part of her equestrian career. Jenn had to travel across major cities while she was a part of the Paris Panthers team during the Global Champion League.
She says in the interview that she tries to visit different sites and learn about the culture while visiting a new place. She visited Prague in 2018 for the Global Champion League, and was able to explore a new environment and culture while witnessing the best Equestrians compete.
“I’m fortunate that my family travels quite a bit, so we end up seeing each other in different locales,” says Jenn reflecting her bond with her family. She reveals that her family takes up occasional horse rides together. “We love doing family trail rides, which is super fun,” says Jenn.

After trying her hands at multiple sports at the age of 6 Jenn and her childhood best friend decided to try horseback riding. So, the two kids chose a farm 45 minutes away from their house. Jenn recollects,” My parents were generous enough to make the commitment to drive us there for lessons once a week.”
She credits her parents for supporting her to pursue her dreams both financially and emotionally. Not just that she also credits her trainers for her equestrian journey.
