Harrison Ford has done 4 Indiana Jones movies so far, all of them directed by auteur Steven Speilberg. This is the first time the project in the franchise will be helmed by Logan director James Mangold. As a Collider article once broke down the “Behind the Scenes” of making the movie, Harrison Ford’s love of horse riding is clearly evident in it.
While the article also delved into deeper details about how the production unit got every detail meticulously accurate to the original franchise, not much detail was revealed on Ford and his horses. However, a week after the Collider article came out, Harrison Ford did an interview for Esquire, where he talked about his favorite horse among other things.

Harrison Ford said that his favorite horse was a gelding called ‘Hurricane’, and it was during the shooting of the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Ford said about Hurricane to Esquire, “Hurricane was a fantastic horse. I could ride him right up to a tank and I’d stuff a rock in the cannon, he was dead solid”. As he revisited the scenes with Hurricane in the film, Ford got nostalgic during the interview.
The Last Crusade was the 3rd Indiana Jones movie in the franchise. It was shot in Spain, and Ford even wanted to adopt the Spanish stallion. But the complications of international travel made him reconsider. Horses have been intricately associated with the character since the first movie. In the first Indiana Jones movie, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Harrison Ford is seen riding another horse while he is chasing a military vehicle. Such is love for the activity, he made sure that fans get to see him one last time riding a horse in the next film.
