Mental health has always been a pressing issue for everyone. From workers in felt hat factories to oil rig miners, it has affected every professional from various fields. However, only with the dawn of the 21st century, and more so in recent years, an increasing number of people have started to speak up about it. More recently, when a former First Lady of the US spoke about it, urging everyone to give it due diligence, many tended to abide by it. This included Bill Gates’s eldest daughter and equestrian Jennifer Gates.

Jennifer Gates has always pushed hard to strive for positivity in this world. As a proud daughter of her entrepreneur parents, she never misses any opportunity to put out something inspiring and motivational into the world. And when it’s a message about prioritizing mental health, shared by Michelle Obama, Gates couldn’t resist sharing it herself.

Jennifer Gates recently took to her Instagram stories and shared a quote by the former First Lady Michelle Obama. Impressed by the message it sends out, Jennifer Gates wrote only two words, “Role Model”. While Michelle Obama has been idolized by a legion of women, and men, for her years of entrepreneurship work and inspirational talks, Jennifer Gates too is part of the bandwagon now.

The post that Gates shared, was initially shared by Michelle Obama herself in her Instagram stories. It went, “I am still becoming. I have not stopped evolving. So don’t get frustrated with the learning process and because there’s time, make room for your mental health. Prioritize it”. The quote was from one of the episodes of her The Light Podcast.

The importance of mental health education in younger people

As Jennifer Gates only shared a snippet of her quote, Michelle Obama went further in addressing the younger people, the demographics that often feel confused or lost or in disarray in the larger spectrum of things. She assures these young men and women, that “there will be days when you feel alone or you have no clue what happens next, but that’s okay”. Obama gives them strength and power in believing in themselves and reassures them it is all a part and process of figuring themselves out. She goes on to explain the issue in further intricate detail for everyone, and the message was received by everyone.

More than a month ago, she also made an appeal to donate to Thinking Huts, and just recently she shared Adam Grant’s theory on the importance of kindness. She always uses her social media presence to heal the world one step at a time.
