The U.S. Equestrian Federation (USEF) continues to prioritize the well-being and safety of both athletes and equines within the equestrian community. Both physical and mental health are sacrosanct. In its latest endeavour to uphold integrity and ensure a secure environment, USEF has unveiled a groundbreaking text program designed to revolutionize the way misconduct and safety concerns are reported.
Reporting concerns related to athlete abuse or equine safety within the U.S. Equestrian Federation (USEF) just got simpler with the advent of new technology. This initiative marks a significant step toward fostering transparency and addressing issues promptly.

Moreover, this move seeks to enable secret reporting of any matters relating to USEF Safe Sport policy and equine safety issues. To ensure athlete and animal welfare, the US Equine Federation has introduced the 2USFEF (28733). This makes it very easy for members of the organization to report all violations and concerns. The revolutionary 2USEF code allows members to provide information on any misbehaviour and equine safety concerns without revealing their identities, thereby making processes easier.
In Sonja’s words, “USEF prioritizes the wellbeing of our athletes, both human and equestrian alike, and this is another step toward removing barriers to reporting concerns about participant abuse and horse health.” Equine safety has one more weapon in its arsenal though.

Expanding RealResponse for equestrian safety
After the adoption of RealResponse introduced last year, USEF expanded safety issues related to horses on its platforms. With this development, members and participants can equally report any suspected equine safety issues to the same hotline 2USEF (28733). The members can easily report on such issues either through texts or emails. Sonja Keating states that it makes sense for us to expand our RealResponse platform and have it also incorporate concerns about horses’ health. She adds that remembering 2USEF (28733) is now all it takes for an individual to start reporting.

Additionally, USEF has revised the MAAPP posters, making them more accessible by putting QR codes that navigate the members towards the anonymous texter for easy reference and application. “2USEF” (28733) is an example illustrating how USEF strives for a friendly and safe reporting mechanism that can be used to protect horses and athletes within the equestrian fraternity.
