The war broke out nearly a week ago when Hamas fighters fired thousands of missiles into Israel. They also opened fire on innocent concertgoers in Israel near the border and took nearly 150 hostages. Since then, Israel has declared war on the Gaza Strip in an effort to seize and capture the Hamas fighters. A recent update came on Sunday, the 15th of October, when the Gaza Health Ministry said that 2,329 Palestinians have lost their lives in the ongoing war, making it the deadliest of all the five Gaza wars for Palestinians.

More than 600,000 Gazans have fled to the southern part of the Gaza Strip, near the Egyptian border city of al-Arish. Many renowned people have taken a stand and have urged the need for peace and solidarity with both nations.
