There is no connection quite like the one between a horse and its rider. Horses are magnificent yet pure creatures that have a spirit of both strength and softness. Many experts and equestrian enthusiasts share the sentiment that this very spirit is a source of healing and therapy. Dr. Pebbles Turbeville of the nonprofit Horses & Humans Research Foundation told the Washington Post, “I’ve had riders who needed to use their walker to get to the horse. But when they got off the horse after a session, they were able to walk back to their walker on their own”.
Over the years, countless lives have been transformed by the therapeutic power of horses. And now, in an endearing update, the American equestrian community is embarking on a journey of change, harnessing and recognizing the profound therapeutic impact that horses can have.
