It has been a great equestrian season so far; triple crowns have been achieved, and the Saratoga Race Course witnessed some great races. Almost every racing event has come to an end, and there isn’t much left in the current season. However, the month of November will mark one of the most anticipated races in equestrian history: The Breeder’s Cup, one of the most significant Grade I thoroughbred races in the world. Horses, trainers, and jockeys are giving their all in training sessions to stay one step ahead of their competitors.

However, a few small races are still left for the horses to test their capabilities just before the grand takeoff. Among them, a Grade II race has paved the way for a colt to make his debut at the upcoming Breeder’s Cup. As part of his Breeder’s Cup appearance, this two-year-old colt is currently making headlines. He recently secured victory in a significant Grade II Stakes race, and both his owners and trainer appear confident following his impressive performance in November.

Horse Racing Nation shared the news on their X (formerly Twitter) handle with the caption, “With his blowout win in the Saratoga Special, Rhyme Schemes looks like the new torchbearer for the Breeders Cup.” Rhyme Schemes won the Grade II Saratoga Special, worth $200,000, and is regarded as the upcoming star of the upcoming Grade I Breeder’s Cup. Rhyme Schemes showcased pure brilliance at Saratoga as he started the race a bit slow, chased down his opponents, and grabbed the win. On June 15, during his maiden start of his career at Ellis Park, he set a deliberate pace under mild pressure and then surged to a 9 1/4-length win.

For this remarkable performance, he earned a 94 Beyer Speed Figure and an incredible 103 Timeform US Speed Figure in the 5 1/2-furlong race. Despite his impressive recent performances, he will face tremendous pressure at the Breeder’s Cup, as he will compete against some of the best horses out there. Guided by his trainer, Norm Casse, it’s expected that he will continue to develop leading up to the commencement of the Breeder’s Cup. Making his debut this year, he has left a lasting impression on everyone.
