In professional bull riding, where the arena is unforgiving and the challenges are relentless, rising stars often face moments that define their careers. Tristen Parker is a young boy from the small town of Winnie, Texas. He recently concluded an incredible debut season in Pasadena, California. But that’s not all. After an awe-inspiring season, Parker is ranked as the 8th bull rider in the PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) World Standings, solidifying his place among the elite riders who will saddle up for the National Finals Rodeo later in the year at the iconic Thomas and Mack Arena.

Throughout his tumultuous year, there have been thrilling highs and challenging lows, all of which have moulded him into the rodeo champion he is today. But, even though he has achieved much success, the eight-time World Champion, Don Gay, has some advice for him.

A Rookie’s Journey to the Top

T Parker’s journey to the National Finals Rodeo is nothing short of remarkable. Parker’s rookie season ended up as a rollercoaster ride of emotions. He recalls, ?This year was a big banger, I didn?t think I?d get as far as I did. I had a good feeling I was going to go home during the middle of the summer run, just because I?d never been away from my family that long.”

Despite these challenges, Parker persevered, holding onto his dreams and continuing to compete with unwavering dedication. “But after many long phone calls and many nights crying, I was able to just stick it out, do my job,? he said. This defined his rookie season and earned him the respect of his peers and fans alike.

Throughout his rodeo season, Rodeo Houston, Lawton Xtreme Bulls, and the Washington State played important roles in shaping his career. Rodeo Houston, in particular, holds a special place in his heart, as it’s practically a hometown rodeo for this Texan cowboy. After this season ends, Don Gay gave him the best advice for now.

T Parker’s unforgettable rookie season concluded with a flourish, as he clinched victory in Pasadena, Texas. Riding aboard Frontier Rodeo?s Bonanza, Parker scored an impressive 88 points, adding another almost $4,000 to his season earnings. This win made its total earnings to $152,792.However, what makes this victory even more remarkable is the sage advice he received from an icon in the world of bull riding?eight-time World Champion, Don Gay.

Gay encouraged Parker to go home, heal his injury, and ensure he’s at 100% when he heads to Las Vegas for the NFR. Unofficially, T Parker has already secured the title of Resistol Rookie of the Year in bull riding. He currently sits at No. 8 in the PRCA World Standings.
