Legend Arnold Schwarzenegger was always very particular about parenting his five children. Now in their adulthood and leaving individual lives, his children continue to remain close to him and respect him for his teachings. Recently, Arnold’s daughter Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt talked about the values she got from her parents that she will pass on to her two daughters. 

Ahead of the release of her new children’s book, Good Night, Sister, writer Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt talked about how her parents, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver brought her up. The 33-year-old traveled back to the values she received from them in a recent interview.

Just like her parents, Katherine wants to provide important values to her daughters Eloise Christina, 8 months, and Lyla Maria, 2½. In a recent interview with New York Times, Schwarzenegger Pratt recalled memories from her childhood appreciating her parents’ parenting. Before that, she shared that the grandparents of her daughters perform various things for their entertainment. 

For example, Maria Shriver hosts a mommy-and-me session each week for Lyla and her friends. On the other hand, Arnold Schwarzenegger has got a pony for her grandchildren whom they absolutely adore. Stating these anecdotes, Katherine told, “I know this sounds crazy, but I really would love to just do exactly what they did,”

Furthermore, she recalled that while she grew up, her parents kept their family life very private. They did not reveal many details about family gatherings and dynamics in the media. Both Arnold and Maria provided a very protective environment to their children. They never took them to red carpets or exposed them to the media even casually. Recalling these small moments, Maria profoundly shared that she wants to instill exactly the same value into her children that she got from her parents. 

Indeed, Katherine’s daughters have a great bond with each of their grandparents. In another interview, Katherine revealed that her daughters and mother Maria Shriver, leave her out at times. The three of them get along very well with each other. On the other hand, Arnold Schwarzenegger once revealed that he plays with his granddaughters for at least an hour or two, whenever they visit him.
