Retired professional bodybuilder Lou Ferrigno has rocked both the worlds – acting and bodybuilding. The renowned bodybuilder attracted massive popularity when he appeared in the first installment of The Incredible Hulk series in the 1970s. However, he has expressed several grievances about the recent installment of Hulk in many interviews. Lou had marked some integral aspects of the modern-day presentation of the Hulk series, expressing his absolute distaste.

Lou Ferrigno has bagged multiple titles to his name throughout his bodybuilding career. He started bodybuilding during his teenage years. In 1973, the bodybuilder won in two categories of IFBB Mr. America and Mr. Universe. Again, in 1974, he won IFBB Mr. International and Mr. Universe. The 70-year-old bodybuilder became famous when he came third competing against Arnold Schwarzenegger in Mr. Olympia in 1975.
Why is Lou Ferrigno disappointed with the modern-day Hulk series?
The original Hulk, Ferrigno, is very particular about the presentation of the character that he first played at the beginning of his acting career. Presently, he feels highly disappointed with the unnecessary CGI enhancement of the MCU characters, especially the Hulk.

In one of the interviews with The Washington Times, Ferrigno expressed that he was appreciative of the present-day efforts of the artists, but feels that certain raw emotions of the actors could be only portrayed by the performance of the actors and not special effects.
In another interview with Canada’s Hamilton Comic-Con, Lou Ferrigno criticized the performance of Mark Ruffalo in Endgame. He said, “What’s happening is that in the first two Hulk movies, the CGI was improving, but in the last one, Endgame, I was disappointed. Because the Hulk needs to be hideous, he needs to be a creature,”

According to Lou, Mark Ruffalo did not portray the quality of the Hulk. He blatantly expressed that he did not like him in the giant monster’s role. In Ferrigno’s words, he ‘can’t think of another superhero that isn’t in costume or CGI.’ He stated that for the Hulk’s role, he prepared his body from scratch with diet and exercise.

How did Ferrigno get the Hulk’s role?
Before locking Lou Ferrigno, the makers of Hulk discussed casting the legend Arnold Schwarzenegger and Richard Kiel. However, both were rejected owing to height and appearance reasons.
