Fans waiting for Mr. Olympia 2022 Classic Physique results can now celebrate as the results are out. Reigning champion Chris Bumstead continues to retain his title for the fourth time. The 27-year-old proudly received his fourth Mr. Olympia Classic Physique title today. While receiving it, Bumstead revealed about his cancer friend who motivated him a lot during the training process. Moreover, he also had a message for everyone watching him.

Chris Bumstead won a whopping $50 k on the Mr.Olympia stage. The bodybuilder flaunted his tall and muscular physique, making everyone admire his performance. Previously, Bumstead consecutively won the title three times from 2019 to 2021. He leaves his mark as a bodybuilder today as he defends his title for the fourth time.

Chris Bumstead’s cancer friend drove his motivation

While receiving the title, the reigning Classic Physique champ revealed the reason behind his motivation with a message that he wanted to pass on to everybody. Chris had a 19-year-old friend who was suffering from cancer. In the summer of 2022, Chris learned a lot of things from his friend.

Although Chris lost his friend before Mr.Olympia, he made the most of his winning moment and recalled the things his friend taught him. In a way, his friend drove his motivation to win the title. He taught Chris a lot about the art of living life to the fullest.

He stated on Mr.Olympia TV while receiving the title, “You don’t have to be dying; start living. And he was 19 years old. […] The most present grateful man I had ever met in my life and I wore his bracelet up until I got my tan […] And he taught me, it was one of the most beautiful things and he sadly passed a month after he taught me that lesson but his lesssons will stick with me forever.”

Chris had a message for everyone. Cbum shared, “Something I will wanna pass on to everyone—just enjoying the moment, being in the present, love your family, and just like soak it all in.” Bumstead also thanked his fiance Courtney, his parents, and coach Hany Rambod. He won the title outshining his competitors Kalecinski, Dino, and Ashley.

Chris Bumstead suffered from an incurable disease

In 2018, Chris Bumstead opened about suffering from an auto-immune disease called IgA Nephropathy. It is a medical condition that affects the kidneys and prevents water from going to certain body parts.

However, Bumstead took serious care of his disease with proper treatment. He became the runner-up in 2018 in Mr.Olympia Classic Physique. Since 2019, he has only dominated the championship.
