Beesley’s motive to join the gym came from her disabled child. The pressure of handling multiple responsibilities got her into acute stress to the point where she struggled. Soon she found a solution to come out of the mental stress and follow her path to meritorious breakthroughs.
How did Laura Beesley get into bodybuilding?
Beesley’s eldest son, Logan, is suffering from neuronal migration that has made him sit in a wheelchair, making him physically demanding at times. The bodybuilder reached an overwhelming point handling three children.
Her 33-year-old husband and firefighter, Mike, encouraged her to hit the gym. It was nothing but a coping mechanism for Beesley. After joining in 2018, she eventually developed an interest in competitive bodybuilding.
In an interview with Edinburgh Live, the female bodybuilder stated;
“I had to give up my job as a PT to focus on bodybuilding. My oldest son is in a wheelchair and he can by physically demanding. It helps me to deal with stress, you need something to focus on. The gym helps me mentally.”
Before her marriage, Beesley was in the military. However, between 2011 to 2018, she hardly did any exercise, getting involved in family commitments. When she joined the gym, she became a personal trainer for some time. Later, she began competitive bodybuilding.
Moreover, the mother of three competed in several competitions. She came second in the athletic figure category, in a competition held in Manchester in September. Beesley also came second in the British finals in Telford. Recently, she appeared in the PCA World Championships at Birmingham Town Hall on November 20.

“I didn’t think I’d get this far. I just started this year and I’ve been on prep since May. When I did my first show it was just for a challenge, getting that far against ladies who have been doing it longer was amazing. I’ve been training for about four years consistently.”
