Are Partain and Benesh the dynamic duo Team USA needs to dominate beach volleyball again?

The United States has dominated several sports events at the Paris Olympics this year. However, beach volleyball appears to be a tough competition for them. The only athletes that the Americans have left on their hands for the sport are Miles Partain, 22, and 29-year-old Andrew Benesh. It is completely normal if you weren’t familiar with these names before.

Both stars made up the youngest men’s beach volleyball team in US history at the Olympics. Despite their lack of experience at the quadrennial sports event, they are the only two stars that can plausibly help secure a medal for their team, and they look like they stand a chance.

Miles Partain and Andrew Benesh are to face Team Qatar’s Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan on the evening of August 7th. Although the match has yet to be concluded, it seems like the two athletes have things under control. Their most recent achievement may help you build confidence in them if you are finding it difficult to do so.

Leaving their other team members behind, Partain and Benesh succeeded in the quarterfinals of the game by defeating a former Olympic champion, Paolo Nicolai. He won the silver medal in beach volleyball at the Rio Summer Games in 2016 alongside Daniele Lupo. However, his alliance with the 25-year-old Samuele Cottafava didn’t seem to have worked out.

Team Italy, consisting of Nicolai and Cottafava, lost to Miles Partain and Andrew Benesh on the 5th of August, allowing the latter to take Team USA to the quarterfinals tonight at the Paris Olympics. These two athletes are the last ray of hope for the supporters of their country because the women have already lost in their department.

USA supporters are not having the greatest time at the beach volleyball games at the Paris Olympics

Before Benesh and Partain could clear for the quarterfinals, the female athletes from Team USA struggled to keep up their game against Switzerland’s Tanja Hueberli and Nina Brunner on Tuesday. Kelly Cheng and Sara Hughes lost the opportunity to even make it to the quarterfinals. However, seeing both Partain and Benesh play in the QF for the same sport really gives you hope if you thought that Team USA was doomed in beach volleyball this year. The young male athletes really seem to be giving Team Qatar a run for their money in the Eiffel Tower Center Court as the match goes down.

The Cheng-Hughes defeat was disappointing, crushing the American dream of winning a medal in the summer sport. However, the event at the Paris Olympics can still turn around miraculously, allowing Team USA to capture a medal. This is why fans’ best bet is to confide in Miles Partain and Andrew Benesh and let them play through the quarterfinals without much pressure. If they end up qualifying through the QF, get ready to cheer for the United States on the 8th, as they will have to face Team Sweden on that day.
