Even Though the Pan American Games did not have any qualifications for the upcoming Olympics, it is of utmost importance. Being held in Santiago, the Pan American Games 2023 features various events across multiple sports. Recently, the US duo of Cornnie Quiggle and Sarrah Murphy made headlines in the Beach volleyball event when the US pair dominated over Argentine pair, Ana Gallay and Fernanda Pereyra.

Along the same lines, the US beach volleyball duo have now added another achievement to their kitty. They advanced one more step to secure a spot in the semifinals of the Pan American Games 2023.

USA’s Beach Volleyball Duo vs. Chilean Duo  

This year, Cornnie Quiggle and Sarrah Murphy seem to be eyeing clinching gold at the Pan-American games. A tweet by USAVbeach was captioned, “Still going at the Pan Am Games! Corinne Quiggle and Sarah Murphy won 2-0 over Vorpahl/Rivas in the quarterfinals. The U.S. duo is moving on to the semifinals, where they are set to face Silva/Santos tomorrow in Santiago.”

Soon after dominating Pool B at a beach volleyball event in the Pan American Games, the ‘Quigglehorn’ duo emerged victorious again. Recently, it has made it to the tournament’s semifinals after defeating their opponent Vorpahl and Rivas in the quarterfinal match. The major spectacle in the game was the showcase of prowess on the court by the Pair securing 2-0 over Vorpahl and Rivas. 

In an exclusive interview with USA Volleyball, Murphy said, “We’re very happy to be here in Santiago and playing in front of some lively fans,… We’re playing well, executing a good game plan and making adjustments when we need to. Shoutout to Coach Fiapo! Looking to take the same energy into the quarterfinals on Wednesday.”

What is the Way Ahead for the USA’s duo? 

In the upcoming semifinal match, Quiggle Horn will fight for a spot in the Finals against the Brazilian Pair. Although the Pair has been playing exceptionally well, they will witness fierce competition from their rivals, Silva and Santos, in the semifinals. Nonetheless, the team is skilled and uses strategies to counter their opponents.
