USA Beach Volleyball Pairs Face Impending Heartbreak at Pan Am Games, Yet a Faint Glimmer of Medal Hope Persists

Commencing on 21st October, the Beach Volleyball event at the Pan American Games has provided a ray of hope to the spectators. Participants have poured heart and soul into the tournament to make it to the finals. Along the same lines, two beach volleyball duos representing Team USA have left spectators on the edge of their seats. 

Even though fans had high hopes for Team USA’s beach volleyball pairs, their dreams were shattered as they failed to accomplish their spot at the final match. Nonetheless, Team USA’s Beach volleyball pairs still have an opportunity to show their prowess as they will be competing for bronze this Friday.  

Shattering of the golden dream in beach volleyball

As the recent tweet by USAV Beach was captioned, “Tough matches today at the Pan Am Games saw both U.S. teams fall in the semis. Men: def. 2-0 Women: def. 2-0 It’s not over yet though! Corinne Quiggle/Sarah Murphy and Logan Webber/Hagen Smith will compete in the bronze medal matches tomorrow.”

In the recent match held at the Pan American Games on Thursday, the USA’s dream of getting a gold or silver at the Pan American Games shattered. Not only one but two of the teams competing in the semifinals were defeated by the opponents. Quiggle horn pair featuring Corinne Quiggle and Sarah Murphy faced a tough by team Brazil. Eventually, team Brazil made it to the finals and secured a remarkable score of 2-0, making it difficult for USA’s women’s team. 

On the other hand, Men’s Beach Volleyball duo Logan Webber and Hagen Smith encountered a similar situation in the match against team Cuba. Although the USA’s pair tried their best to clinch at least one point in the match, they could not do so due to intense competition on the court. Thus, they were defeated by team Cuba with an exceptional score of 2-0 in the semifinal showdown.  

What is the Next Step for Team USA at the Pan American Games?

Even though Team USA could not make it to the finals, the hope for a medal is still alive. With the shattering of a gold dream, the USA has to settle for a bronze medal this time. But, the Bronze is not as easy to achieve as it is. 

While the Quigglehorn duo will compete against Argentina’s Gallay and Pereyra, the Men’s beach volleyball team will battle against the opponent Grimalt and Grimalt from team Chile to accomplish Pan American Bronze. By achieving a bronze medal in the tournament, USA’s team will contribute two medals, adding to the collection of 40 Bronze for Team USA.

Overall, the performance of Team USA’s men’s and women’s beach volleyball pairs was quite disappointing for the spectators. However, the hope of achieving a Pan American Games bronze medal remains. All that teams are required to do is to learn from their mistakes. But the question remains: Will the USA’s beach volleyball team add two more medals to the collection?
