Caitlin Clark is now miles away from having a chance to play for the US national basketball team in the Paris Olympics. However, that much-debated omission did not dent her excitement for the upcoming pomp. In fact, she has let out her merriment recently in the Lucas Oil Stadium while walking by the swimming pools. The NFL stadium turned-to-swimming arena is currently hosting the US Olympics swimming trials and coming from the home team, Indiana Fever squad, Caitlin Clark appeared in the arena with her teammates. The fans couldn’t keep from celebrating such a rare crossover in two Olympic sports.

USA Swimming’s X-handle framed Caitlin Clark’s excitement in the packed house of Lucas Oil Stadium in the evening. The WNBA star could be seen displaying a dive-like phenomenon and dipping her fingers in the pool. Meanwhile, her accompanying mates cheered her by shouting “Do it”. The X-handle couldn’t miss the moment as while sharing, it captioned it with, “Up for a quick swim, @CaitlinClark22??” The reply from the Indiana Fever rookie is yet to come. But the fans have captured the moment gleefully. One such fan quickly penned in the comment box, “Viral moment of the year”.

Notably, the Indiana Fever squad is in town right now because of their WNBA game against the Washington Mystics. The match is scheduled for June 19 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. So before heading to the competitive game, the fun outing in the Lucas Oil Stadium will surely add to the mental joy. Furthermore, the scene has gained an emotional tone because of the current happenings in the women’s basketball field in the USA.

The fiasco started with Caitlin Clark missing to cut into the Paris Olympics-bound women’s basketball team for the USA. Apart from being the no. 1 pick in the WNBA draft, the star has staggering numbers to support her inclusion in the squad. In this season, her average points remain 16.1 so far whereas the number of rebounds is 5.1 per game. Still, she couldn’t leave a mark on the selection criteria for the Olympic team. Eventually, the officials provided several anecdotes for not going with her in selecting the final 12-squad. However, the fans have found certain links between Caitlin Clark, the Paris Olympics, and swimming.

Caitlin Clark’s appearance in the Lucas Oil Stadium could be seen as a rare crossover between the sports. But for the fans from two worlds, it tended to imagine the WNBA superstar in a swimmer’s persona. One such display came when a fan added, “She’d be a fierce backstroke swimmer.” The reason could be that the swimming technique needs a lot more flexibility and strength to carry it out successfully. As per several fans, Caitlin is apt to have such features. Moreover, taking swimming as her next sport might get her the Olympic berth.

Such thinking was also present as a fan commented, “Caitlin Clark’s gonna make the USA Olympic team — one way or another…. LOL!”

Several fans who practice their choices in both sports have tasted unparalleled satisfaction from such a scene. This has been proven in one comment, “my world are again colliding😂 little swimmer me would be freaking out rn”. But in the meantime, Christine Brennan pointed out a rare coincidence.

The judicious journalist remembers Jon Ledecky’s last-minute exit from the scene when Angel Reese engaged in a foul with Caitlin Clark in the WNBA match last Sunday. Jon, Katie Ledecky’s uncle, was saved by Michael (Katie’s brother) from facing an injury because of the collision. Now, two days after that incident, Caitlin showed up in the arena where Katie is one of the major participants. Merging those two incidents, the columnist wrote, “Worlds collide, part 2. First the Ledeckys go to the Fever game and end up batting away the ball after Angel Reese’s flagrant foul on Caitlin Clark. Now Clark and her teammates come to the Olympic trials”.  Is it a coincidence? No one knows. Meanwhile, Katie Ledecky has repeatedly expressed her wish to meet with the rookie. But most fans argued that the pool must be the lucky one to get a touch from such a legend.

Therefore, comments like “Oh my God Caitlin Clark touched the pool – that s**t is now holy water!” came in the box. However, Caitlin Clark’s appearance in the Lucas Oil Stadium brought a breather to the US sports fans. They will surely hope for more such pomp in the future.
