“Worst College Basketball Team Ever”: Dave Portnoy Lashes Out as Utah Crumbles Against St. John’s

This year, Utah Utes did a commendable job by achieving the honor of getting into the discussion of the basketball community, as it made its way from No.81 to No. 53. The club ascended as one of the four teams from Pac-12 to participate in the Super Conference. However, soon after that, the bubble around the squad seemed to burst. That did not go out of sight of Dave Portnoy.

After Houston, the Utah Utes have fallen miserably to St. John’s in the NCAA first-division basketball championship. Following this, Barstool Sports president Dave Portnoy shared his unfeigned perspective. At the onset of the game against St. John’s, his social media post has resembled many fans’ statements of Runnin’ Utes. 

Dave Portnoy criticizes the Utah Utes basketball’s performance

Many fans on X could not agree more than the post of Dave Portnoy on the Utah Utes basketball team. Dave has lashed out at the performance of the squad vehemently. The post made from the X handle, @stoolpresidente read, “Utah is the worst college basketball team ever. They do nothing well. Their big man is horrible. They are slow. Can’t play defense. Can’t shoot.  I hate them”. The timing of the post could not avoid fans’ gazes as on the same day, St. John’s handed Utah another defeat.  

The Sunday evening game was assumed to be a big match for Utah. The match in Charleston Classic was the third-place decider. However, the performance of the Runnin’ Utes could not make a mark from the beginning. Lately, the offense line has stepped up their performance in the game.

The same situation has happened to Utah’s star player, Brandon Carlsen. The late movement of the squad was also there, in the match against Houston. Probably, that made Dave Portnoy go berserk at the entire squad and staff of Utah Utes.

The dismal performance of Utah Utes has come as no surprise to Dave Portnoy. After criticizing the squad from tip to toe, this time, Dave has outpoured his disgust over his tilt betting. T

he Barstool Sports ‘presidente’ might have gone after some wild bets on Sunday night. After losing those, he has channelized his despair on the X, “That was worst tilt bet of my life.   Message to the kids.  Don’t bet on tilt.  Never ends well.    Dave is taking a deep breath and moving on”. 

In the next game, Utah Utes will lock horns against the Saint Mary’s on November 27, in California.
