Noah Lyles to kickstart 2024 season with indoor events

Track and field digital creator and Olympic medalist Fitzdunk recently added a new post on his Instagram page. The post carried the caption, “The 2024 Pro Indoor circuit will not be short of the stars! Check out these lists of meets and who will be going there!” The post contained the information of several stars, including that of Noah Lyles.

The post revealed that Noah Lyles will open his 2024 season on 4th February 2024 at the New Balance Grand Prix. Interestingly, this is the same event with which the 26-year-old had kickstarted his 2023 campaign. Moreover, he also achieved a lifetime best of 6.51 seconds in the 60m dash at the Grand Prix.
The 6x World Champion will be making his sixth appearance in the event and look for a solid start. An indoor event after a hiatus since September would make the perfect season starter for Noah Lyles. Especially when the 2023 Athlete of the Year has already declared that he will bag a threepeat at the Paris Olympics as well.

Speaking to Men’s Health in an interview, Noah Lyles said, “We’re going after everything… We’re going after the triple. Going after the world record, too. I know I can do this.” Thus, Lyles has already planned on making Paris a repeat telecast of Budapest. But, while the iconic sprinter has both the capability and determination, he will have to work extra hard for the Olympics.
While Noah Lyles experienced a major growth spurt in 2023, he wasn’t the only one who underwent a metamorphosis. He worked as a catalyst for the growth of many of his fellow competitors. This list includes the young guns Erriyon Knighton and Lestile Tebogo, as well as veterans like Christian Coleman and Zharnel Hughes.

Notably, while Erriyon Knighton and Zharnel Hughes have come very close to overtaking Lyles, Christian Coleman has already achieved this feat at the 2023 Eugene Diamond League. Interestingly, the Hayward Field Stadium has been chosen as the venue for the Olympic track trials. Noah Lyles has given his best and has been bested at this stadium as well.
