A 5-time Olympic medalist, Shericka Jackson proved that she can bounce back after any defeat. The tracks athlete made a strong comeback after getting defeated by Sha’Carri Richardson in the 100m race in the Doha Diamond League. Debuting in the JAAA All Corners track meet, the Jamaican athlete thrilled fans with her phenomenal performance. Securing victory in this race on 20th May, Saturday, she was elated as this was her first win in the 200m category.
Her tremendous speed and agility helped her to overcome her closest competitors Stephanie Ann-McPherson and Tatjana Pinto at Jamaica’s National Stadium. Leading the race from the beginning, Jackson obtained a close win over Ann-McPherson who finished the race in 22.38 seconds. A Twitter handle named Rori Dunk shared exciting details of the athletics champion’s memorable win.

Jamaican athlete outperforms competitors

Jackson completed this race at Jamaica’s National Stadium in 22.25 seconds. This helped her to outperform Stephanie Ann-Mcoherson who secured second place and Tatjana Pinto who came third in this race. Jackson’s timing was the 6th fastest in the present season. This timing also helped her to inch closer to beating Julien Alfred who presently has the world’s best timing of 21.91 seconds in the 200m race.

Tremendously happy after this win, the Jamaican athlete also expressed her joy on her Instagram handle. Posting her picture in a recent Instagram Story, she added the caption, “Solid opener. 22.2” along with two smiling face emojis.
Jackson also hinted at her upcoming race on her Instagram Story. She also added fingers crossed emoji, hoping she would win this upcoming race as well.

Shericka Jackson’s future goals

The Jamaican athlete informed fans on Instagram, “Next Stop; Rabat Diamond League. Roaring Solid “ This event will take place on 28th May 2023 at the Prince Moulay Abdellah stadium in Morocco. Post this, Jackson is scheduled to compete in the next meet of the Diamond League in Florence, Italy. This meeting will take place on 2nd June, Friday at the Stadio Luigi Ridolfi. The Jamaican athlete aims to give her 100% and attempt to win both these races.
Jackson’s success in her debut in the JAAA All Corners Meet will definitely boost her confidence for her upcoming races. It remains to be seen whether the Jamaican athlete can surpass her competitors in these races and create history.
