The life of an athlete is not always on a smooth track, where he/she is always winning. This is what Canadian track-and-field athlete Georgia Ellenwood tried to showcase through her recent Instagram video. During the qualification for women’s pentathlon at World Athletics indoor track and field championships in 2022, the Olympian ruptured her Achilles.

Since then, Ellenwood has been working on her journey to return to the sport, but it has not been easy. No matter how strong an athlete might be, recovery is always tough. Ellenwood shared some of these heartbreaking moments she faced via a video on her social media.

Georgia Ellenwood shares behind-the-track difficulties

More than six months after her Achilles rupture operation, Ellenwood has opened up on the struggles of the recovery journey. While several athletes often talk about strong willpower and dedication, Ellenwood also revealed a few of the dark moments she underwent so far, in her ongoing coming-back journey.

The video she uploaded on her Instagram included clips from the day of the incident to her latest progress after the operation. She captioned the reel and wrote, “Flowers don?t grow without a little rain ????? @ 8 1/2 months Post-op; Achilles Rupture.”

Ellenwood metaphorically compared herself to a flower and her tears and sweat as the rain, as the video also had clips of the athlete crying and struggling to walk. But, the athlete continues to fight through the sad times.

It also seems like the heptathlon champion’s return to the tracks is going well.

Ellenwood’s Dos and Don’ts post operation

The Canadian star is a social media queen and keeps her fans updated about her professional and personal life via Instagram. Once, six months post her Achilles operation, Ellenwood posted a video where she showcased training activities she could carry out post-surgery and some which she could not.

According to the reel, Ellenwood swiftly displayed broad jumps, lunge/lunge jumps, jogs, small SL hops, and skipping. However, the athlete faced difficulties while doing bounding, full squats, sprints, big SL hops, and backward running.

Despite suffering a big injury and undergoing a mentally tedious recovery, Ellenwood has not lost hope. Her fans and followers also continue to shower their love and support on the Canadian superstar. Fans hope Ellenwood will make a strong comeback to the field this year, as the 2024 Paris Olympics is approaching soon.
