Mike Tyson outshines Michael Phelps

Mike Tyson’s appearance in the show came amid his preparation to return to boxing. Tyson is famously known for not shunning away from challenges. During Tyson’s prime, his prowess was such that no opponent was safe from a potential knockout whenever Mike entered the ring.

His fighting spirit rose people’s inquisitiveness to know whether Mike would be successful against a great white shark. The challenge drew similarities to the racing challenge that Michael Phelps had undertaken against the terrifying predator.

“I took on this challenger to overcome fears I still deal with in life,” he said, comparing it with his comeback to the ring after retirement. However, Dana White revealed that Mike was angry before attempting the stunt. “And I heard the day he had to go and swim he was super pi**ed off and the whole crew was scared that day because Mike didn’t want to get in the water with the sharks,” he said.

Mind it, this time it was a real white shark, and Mike took on like the champ he is.

Michael Phelps appeared on Discovery’s successful series Shark Week to fulfill the request of his ardent fans. Phelps was compared to the great white shark due to his incredible speed. His velocity, lactic advantage, and attack towards the end of the race drew comparisons to the oceanic predator.

The race was organized in a stretch of open ocean off the coast of South Africa. Whereas the virtually simulated shark also swam the same stretch in similar conditions. The shark bagged the win, but only after a nail-biting contest. Phelps completed the race in 38.1 seconds, whereas the shark completed the race in 36.1 secs. The face-off was closer than expected and Phelps once again proved himself to be a staunch competitor.
