“Sweat Equity Baby!!!”: Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Admires Lindsey Vonn Grinding in the Gym Even on Vacation

Three-time Olympic medalist Lindsey Vonn is a long-time friend of WWE icon and famous actor Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. The two first struck up a friendship after Vonn read a Sports Illustrated interview with Johnson. During the interview, The Rock said, if anyone could keep up with him in the gym, it would be Vonn. Since then the pair have collaborated on many projects. The friends also inspire one another in many ways, one of them, being training discipline. No matter what happens, the Rock never skips a workout and motivates others to do the same.

On April 16, Vonn showed that she possesses a similar mentality. The former Olympic athlete uploaded a training montage on Instagram. However, the 38-year-old revealed in the caption that she was on vacation. Watching her grind in the gym despite being on vacation impressed The Rock, and he left an encouraging comment.

Lindsey Vonn didn’t take it easy 

In the video Lindsey Vonn uploaded to Instagram, the 38-year-old could be seen sweating it out in the gym. Just because she was on vacation, the Olympic gold medalist didn’t deviate from the intensity of her workout routine. The video beings with Vonn putting in maximum effort during the set of battle ropes. She keeps up the same intensity for the rest of the video.

The second part of the clip shows the alpine skiing legend doing Russain twists with a heavy medicine ball for added resistance. The video then cuts to Vonn doing squats. However, instead of doing traditional barbell squats, Vonn did something new. She stepped on a raised platform and attached resistance to her waist through the cable machine. She then does weighted lunges and kettlebell exercises.

“On vacation taking time for me…which means taking care of my body as well as my mind,” Vonn wrote in the caption. The Rock seeing his friend grind in the gym on vacation wrote, “Sweat equity baby!!! #healthymind.” However, Johnson is more than who encourages Lindsey Vonn to train harder.

A mentor for the World Cup winner

While Lindsey Vonn and Dwayne Johnson are friends, they also share immense respect for one another. During an interview with Graham Bensinger, the Olympian praised The Rock. She revealed that Dwayne Johnson is like a mentor to her in many ways, especially when it comes to work ethic and acting.

Besides being great friends, Vonn and Johnson are also in business together. They are both ambassadors for the apparel brand Under Armor. In fact, Lindsey Vonn became the first global ambassador for the actor’s own brand, called Project Rock.
