As Dwayne Johnson Turns 51, Close Friend Lindsey Vonn Shares Iconic Throwback

From entertaining the crowd during his WWE days to making his film debut in ‘The Mummy Returns 1999’ to becoming Hollywood’s highest-paid actor in the industry, Dwayne Johnson has come a long way in his 51 years on this planet. Given it’s his birthday, his close friend, an international alpine skier, has wished him by sharing a picture of them working out together. The two have also worked out together in the past.

Lindsey Vonn is an Olympic gold medalist, whose relationship with Dwayne Johnson started a long time ago after the birthday boy once starred on the cover of Sports Illustrated. They have been very close ever since.

Lindsey Vonn’s sweet and strong bond with The Rock

Lindsey Vonn wrote on her Instagram story, “Happy Birthday” with a series of emojis of a literal rock, birthday cake, firework etc alongside it. Vonn is a decorated alpine skier, whose career includes 2 World Championships gold besides her Olympic gold. She has been friends with Dwayne Johnson for a long time. And it has only strengthened with time.

In her story, she attached a picture of her and the Rock working out together. Vonn is also the first-ever brand ambassador of Dwayne Johnson’s apparel collection ‘Project Rock’. In 2016, Johnson partnered with American apparel manufacturer Under Armour to release ‘Project Rock’. The first item sold was a gym bag and the 2nd item was a black t-shirt with the signature ‘Brahma Bull’ on it. Both were instantly sold out.

However, Lindsey Vonn’s and Dwayne Johnson’s friendship goes way beyond that. It started out when the Rock was on the cover of Sports Illustrated magazine and somebody asked him if there was anyone who could keep up with him in the gym. Hearing that, Vonn was freaked. She believed that was not true since she could keep up with him. This led to Johnson’s team reaching out to her and thus began their friendship.

She has since been one of his biggest supporters and he has been like a mentor to her. Last year too, Vonn wished him on his birthday, albeit in a unique way. She had written on her Instagram story then, “Happy Birthday my friend! Can’t believe you’re the big 5-0!!!… lord knows you won’t be relaxing”. Their closeness is only bound to get deeper and stronger as they age.
